DAY 2 TRIP: FLORENCE
After breakfast you have the option to join a full day excursion to Florence (not included in the tour price).

A day trip to Florence is a great idea to soak up art and culture. Enjoy a day in Florence and stroll through this rich city of commerce in the centre of Italy, which has contributed greatly to the cultural development of Europe. A trip that is truly worthwhile.

Florence is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and culturally important cities in Italy. Above all, it is home to impressive painting, sculpture and is also architecturally of the greatest importance Florence is dominated by museums and sacred buildings, here you are spoilt for choice. Add to this a visit to the Old Bridge, the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, and a stroll through the historic old town, which is full of grandiose historical monuments and valuable art treasures. Everywhere you can sense the importance Florence gained under the Medici in the 15th century.

We want to concentrate on the must-sees, then there is time for a short lunch, an unusual snack and of course a typical gelato to enjoy the flair of Florence. So we stay in the time-honoured part of the city and decide to visit the Uffizi, one of the oldest and most famous museums in the world. We continue to the Piazza della Signoria in front of the Palazzo Vecchio and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Brunelleschi’s dome. There may even be time to visit the Galleria dell’Accademia to catch a glimpse of Michelangelo’s David sculpture.

DAY 3 TRIP: PISA / LUCCA.
We cross the beautiful Tuscany countryside and take you directly to the old town of Pisa (not included in the tour price). Arriving in Pisa, we first stroll leisurely through the beautiful alleys of the old town. The city centre is divided into four quarters: two south and two north of the river Arno. We then take you to one of the most important sights in Italy: the Leaning Tower of Pisa on the famous Piazza dei Miracoli (German: Platz der Wunder). The tower was planned as a free-standing bell tower (campanile) for the cathedral in Pisa. Today it is probably the most famous and best-known tower in the world.

But in Pisa there is more to marvel at than just the Leaning Tower. Our guide will take you to visit the beautiful Pisa Cathedral. If the queue in front of the cathedral is too long, we will take you to the famous Piazza dei Cavalieri instead. The Piazza dei Cavalieri is one of the most beautiful European squares with its special buildings.

In the afternoon we go to Lucca. Lucca is a charming Tuscan city. It is located about 20 km from Pisa on the small river Serchio. Lucca was a popular residence for dukes and market counts. The famous city wall, the large squares, the many churches and the medieval towers bear witness to the former political and economic importance of this city. The city wall is still very well preserved today and serves as a green promenade around the city centre.

Our guided tour of Lucca starts in the small streets towards the old town until we reach Piazza dell’Anfiteatro (Lucca Arena). In ancient times, the Arena of Lucca was a Roman amphitheatre with about 10,000 seats. Today, the square in the centre of Lucca is one of the most beautiful city squares in Tuscany. Our city guide will show you the impressive San Martino Cathedral. Afterwards, we will stroll together through the characteristic antique street.
